Southern Water has gone out to tender with a contract for insurance broking and associated services worth an estimated £11.5 million.
The water company is looking to contract with a single service provider for the provision of insurance broking and associated services, including risk management and claims assistance.
The insurance broker notice appointed to the contract will provide services to assist Southern Water in acquiring and renewing the insurance programme which is renewed annually on 31 March.
Additional associated services to be provided under the contract include:
- Risk management services to assist SWS in improving risk across the business to enable improved insurance cost and claim risk mitigation. Regular meetings with the broker and key underwriter(s) are expected to ensure a partnership relationship.
- Claims assistance and contractual insurance assistance on reviewing and investigating new insurance products plus any other potential ad hoc insurance queries.
The insurance broking and associated services contract will run for an initial term of 5 years with options to extend for a further period of up to 5 years.
